I received an invitation to attend the CIA’s 75th anniversary celebration. When I worked for the Agency, there were no anniversaries of note to celebrate. However, when I worked on Capitol Hill for the House Intelligence Committee, I attended the 50th anniversary celebration. (For the sake of vanity, let’s pretend that the 50th anniversary occurred when I was a teenager!)
It’s been a while since I’ve been on “campus.” I doubt that I’ll be able to bring my phone, much less take pictures, but I’ll paint the picture for you with words. (It’s what I do.) And, I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for Maggie, Warner, Roger…and of course, nefarious characters intent on destroying them.
Last but not least….how did the CIA know how to contact me after all these years? As a wise man once said to me, “You can leave the CIA, but the CIA will never leave you.”
